Bell And Howell B&H Anamorphic Cinemascope Projection Lens 35mm Film Movie 335B

Description

This is an old Bell and Howell anamorphic or CinemaScope lens. These were used in the projection of 35mm films. These were attached to the prime lens. This lens would then magnify the image x2 in the horizontal plane but by 1 in the vertical. This is how wider images were achieved with film starting in the mid 50’s. The early days of CinemaScope.
This model is extremely rare. I think I have seen 3 pairs in my time. Unfortunately every pair had problems with the balsam between the elements failing. This one is no different. It will look great on the shelf or part of a projector on display. For the serious movie enthusiast and collector. Will be carefully packaged.
This is the last one I have and it is one of the best I have seen of these. Still not something I would try to use.
