    Description

This is a vintage, legendary lens, very hard to find, but it's important for large format users due to its huge image circle and excellent optical quality. This lens will more than cover 12x20; it will give you plenty of tilts and swings in that format. For years it was my main landscape lens on the 12x20, equivalent to about a 35mm on a 35mm camera, and my main lens for architectural work on the 8x10, due to the ability to use extreme corrections and movements. On the 8x10 of course it's a short telephoto. It's in a working vintage compound shutter. If I were just starting out I might be tempted to put the lens into a more modern shutter, but I never did because it always worked. I used slow speeds; if you want accurate fast speeds it wouldn't hurt to get the speeds checked. The coating is obviously not a modern high contrast coating, so it will give you a gentler contrast than a new lens...take that into account in choosing your film and your development. Unusual original wooden lens cap. In the close-up shot through the lens you'll notice some banding; in case you're wondering it's magnifying the screen on the window.
