Vintage Brass 12"+ Large Format Camera Lens
For your consideration: Overall this is a nice brass lens with the original lens cap; which does have some scuffing. The lens still has the nice brass patina and does not have much scuffing or scratches. The mounting flange is part of the rear element; the lens unscrews so that it can be mounted on a lens board. The lens does not have any manufacturer markings that I can find. The lens is mounted in a Unicum shutter. The aperture works as it should and is smooth. The shutter speed dial does turn and sometimes the speeds seem accurate and other times they stay open. The "B" and "T" seem to be more consistent. The lens does have separation on the front and rear element towards the edges. The front element has a little more separation. If someone wanted to use the lens, the separation will not hinder image quality if used at a smaller aperture.
The lens covers 8x10 format nicely and I believe will almost cover 11x14 format, although it might be a little short.
The lens has the potential to be a good user lens, but also would be a nice lens for a camera collection or for display. The lens is large, measuring over 4-1/2" in length and 2" in width. The shutter is approximately 3" in diameter.
